Stomper Fight Song

I bet you didn’t know there was a Stomper fight song. But one of the new Stomper Apprentices, Wendell, made one. According to him, it’s sung to the tune of the Florida State Fight song. (Doesn’t he know I went to Florida? Well, my wife went to Florida State so I guess it’s ok. :-)
Anyway, here is the official Search Engine Stomper fight song. (Kudos, Wendell.)

The Stomper Song

You got to rank, rank, rank, for good ol’ Stomper U!
You got to link, link, link, and get that PR too!
You got to win, win, win, on Google and Ya-hoo!

Anyone who tries to beat us,
Will be grouchy, mad, and vexed.
Because we all know what they don’t know
How to use the right anchor text!

We’ll be victorious with our linkin’ and testin’
And we’ll know the game is done
When all our keyphrase searches
Shows us at the top of paaaaage oooonnnnnnneee!

At that’s how we will win the search engine game
At good…old…Stomp-er….U!”

    Hi Brad & Andy:

Well, this is too hilarious, I’m on cd 8 now, and I can hear this chant in my head…

    Page 1 is a good Goal !!!

  9. September 29th, 2004 | 9:11 am

That’s pretty funny. And the Stomper course works too.

Yesterday, 14 days after posting to this blog I saw that Google had completely indexed every page of my site. I frightened my wife with my screech as I jumped up and down. 7 days earlier I had been very worried. After 10 days I was going to quietly lose faith in the Stomper course and look for further knowledge elsewhere.

But now I’m impressed and I have to say it works! Clearly there’s still some way to the top 10 – and all the rewards - but the road is infinitely shorter once you know your map is correct!

A great idea! A stomper fight song! Too funny.

Like Luke, because of changes I’ve made due to the Stomper, I also have had Google finally coming back to my sight more often and crawling more of my site… does this mean…? do I dare think…? that maybe….? I’m finally getting noticed by Google?

More will be revealed over time, but it’s WAY more than I’ve seen in a YEAR of trying to get Google’s notice…

    Hi Guys

I can’t wait for the stomping ground to open, I
am looking forward to discussing all the different methods we are all using to
stomp Goole and Yahoo. By the way, there is some software that can be easily
installed on your server that tracks the search engine through your site. It
tells you how many times the search engine has visited your site but it gets
better, this neat bit of software even tells you which page the search engine
    has indexed..

    See a working example..

You can download this software by clicking here

I was given it as an incentive to exchange links
with another mortgage sight, maybe you could use it in the same way

YAHOOO I Got some Page Rank Finely, WOW it sure feels got to see that this does work. I bought the Stomper when it first came out and have been working really hard to implment all that I could on my tight budjet. I have been getting free links as many as I can and today I looked and on one site JustInTimeWristWatch.com I have went from a PR0 to a PR3 ! and on my other site FineGlassware4Less.com that I started this with first I have I went from a PR0 to a PR4 and I am just so happy I have to tell someone. I have been optmizing for fine glassware and out of 337,000 I am on page 2 in position 7. The first phrase that I was optmizing for was fine imported glassware and out of 23,600 pages I am at #1 first page. Thanks guys I have been trying to make a website work for years and didnt have a clue on how to make the search engines list you. I have to say the orders are not coming in yet but I am optmistic that it is going to work for me this time. Have a great day

Yay! Google finally updated PR! My site is now a PR4! I think this is a record wait time, isn’t it? I’m wondering if Google is going back to the regular update every 1-2 months, or if they’re going to spread it out to every 3-5 months now (or just whenever they feel like it).

That’s a great fight song! I was starting to get worried that Google was throwing away their PR system. It’s good to see that they haven’t! It has reinforced my confidence in the Stomper methods. Now I have the fight song in my head. I agree with Andy though… it needs to be put to music.

By the way, there is a band from up here in New England called “The Stompers” and they rock! You can see their web site at http://www.TheStompers.com. They had a couple of mild hits back in the 80’s, and they’re still kicking!

I finally listened to the recording of the 3 & a half hour marathon Q&A session you did. I had it on in the background while scanning images from my supplier’s catalogue for my upcoming website for Halloween costumes! Boring job but I tell ya the recording kept me going.

Awesome stuff! I do believe that you outlasted everyone on the call! I missed the call myself because it came at a wrong time of day for me over here in the UK. But thanks for the recording. I am looking forward to seeing my Office Chair UK website climb the rankings on Google. This is for ED:

Ed, So, you’ve got one link from the blog and have changed the title tag - now, here’s what else you may need to do:

    1) Make sure your internal site structure is distributing Page Rank correctly.

    2) Make sure that you have a reasonable density of you main keyword on the page you want to rank for.

    3) Make sure your backwards link gathering campaign is ongoing.

    4) Examine the sites that are ahead of you in the index and determine their competitiveness.

Your home page has been re-indexed in the last 72 hours, just like we said it would - but the substance of improving your SERPS is going to take more than a single additional back link and a title tag change.

Continue doing what you are doing, and you will begin to see results like all of the other stompers are.

72 hours of Stomping and you’re not #1 yet? Maybe Google is broken — someone should call them. 8)

    This one’s to Andy:

I’ve just spent the last 2 hours reading through the 77-page Stomper Resources Guide - at last. Whaow!! What a read. As I read along I was flipping over to my browser window to try things out for myself, and oftentimes I laughed out aloud.

I am guessing that you had a really wonderful time putting the guide together. I could tell from the tone of writing. The examples are great.

What particularly struck me was the fact that you & Brad have covered a lot of the gems given here in the marathon teleseminar, and you continue to cover them with Stomper Apprentices. Repetition is a great thing, especially for information as valuable as this. It’s all really making sense now. I’m just glad you’re not tiring of telling it to us.

ps: I found the elgoog site really hilarious. Quite ingenious too. Amazing how they also read the search terms backwards and output the search results backwards too. It made for a good laugh at the end of the 2-hour read.

Stomper fight song—fun stuff.:-) I have a couple of questions about stomping.
I.) Incoming links: don’t change page rank OR search engine placement until the next update? So, paid links won’t make a difference until an update and therefore buy ‘em close to an update?
II.)Brad… three sites ahead of yours tonight with little page rank but coming up on “shopping.” What is that about? Just buying Google ad space? But they also come up in Optilinks unlike the rest of the paid ads.
III.)In order of importance for ranking….links#1?(w/ anchor text, to be sure), II.) On-page optimization? III.) good luck???

    Thanks…. Newbie but Determines!

  62. November 4th, 2004 | 7:20 pm

    Hi Ed:

I’ve been experiencing the same problem with google for the last 9 months, its very very frustrating… on another site of mine.

but, my question to you is did you did a big over haul change, like major changes? Also, did you home page rank before?

Lastly, Google supposively is doing a big major update right now, and so sit very very tight and don’t change anything, i made this crucial mistake 9 months ago and now we’re no where to be found too… but if you did not link to any “bad neighborhood” whatever that is suppose to be… then you should come back soon… some people say 1 month to 2 months…

I guess, one of the things that we should learn and i know that i have learned is the tweak as little as possible and as tempting as it is don’t do a overhaul site change, unless you have too and can afford to sit it out on the sideline while google takes it time to evaluate your site *again*…

Maybe Brad and chime in on this post…

Good luck to you Ed… and keep us posted,

ps: the stomping material is great but the key is not to do too much… I am told.

    in the mean time:

pps: if you’re still nervous not being found for your key search terms, then do what Brad advises on the CD, buy some PPC programs on Google and Overture just so that you can still get some listings…

    Hi Shirley!

Thanks for sharing. I understand your frustration well. Before the major google dance, I was within the top 5 on several keywords then I disappeared.

Then I started showing up again. And now gone!

I only tweaked two things. The title and the header so that it matched what Brad said to do in the Stomper.

I’m following the advice to do one thing or two at a time and to watch.

Unfortunately, it’s not going as fast as I thought the sales ad said for the stomper.

    Oh well…

Please keep us posted as to what’s happening for you too.

  64. November 4th, 2004 | 8:35 pm

    hi Ed:

i don’t claim to actually know much about seo, but i did the same thing too… not risking too much tweaking, just make sure that on the page that you change your title it has relevancy to the rest of the wording on the rest of the page… and if you only change 2 items, then sit tight and await it out until the google dance is done… if nothing happens, maybe un do what you did and put it back, but do nothing else so that way you can test it, to see if it was something else…

it might not be what you’re doing, it might be just the case of a real big shuffle like last years florida update, which then i have no idea what to say…
