Search is Still Getting Hotter
Google was featured on 60 Minutes tonight. Many people who still didn’t know what AdWords are are going to know now.
This is going to be a great year for the Search industry. I am thinking of going ahead and doing a weekend workshop to teach other Stompers to be professional Search Engine Marketing Consultants. It’s a pretty good gig right now!
If you aren’t already in the Search business, you might want to think about it for 2005. I’m thinking of doing a 2-day workshop on the subject in Atlanta the last weekend in February. Even if you’re just working on your own web sites, it may make sense to pick up a few clients on the site.
And if you want a new career, there are an awful lot of business owners who are starting to figure out that people are actually searching for what they sell. As a result, they’re learning that it makes sense to devote some resources to being there when prospects are looking.

About the blogs, you can start blogging thru blogger.com in five minutes.
If you want to have it hosted on your site, you’ll have to tinker with the ftp settings.

Does it matter the order of the metatags as far as keywords and descriptions go? Should the description metatag line come before the keyword metatag line?

The order probably DOES NOT matter to Google – as many folks speculate that description is not used by Google. I don’t know if it is or isn’t. But do keep in mind that anything you do to improve the user experience or click through, probably can’t hurt. In other words, writing a good description that appears on google, and is descriptive and compelling enough for someone to click on – is a very good thing.
