Google is set to announce a new beta program today. Called “Site Targeting,” and unlike the AdSense program, advertisers can place ads on a CPM, or cost per thousand impressions, basis.
Also, for the first time, advertisers will be able to select which sites their ads appear on.
Very interesting. Less Search, and more pure play advertising.
Here’s a link to an article on MarketingVOX.
Even during the Civil War, the South won many of the early battles . . . .
As you know, Adobe is buying Macromedia. Is this good or bad for those of us who use Photoshop and Flash?
Who knows.
But one thing’s for sure. You won’t find out by reading their press release, or even their FAQ.
To even understand the PR-Speak in their FAQ, you need a translator. Fortunately, you can find one here. (Pretty funny.)
PR 6 web site will give you a free link if you submit an article. I checked it out and there a bunch of cool articles, like this one on “uptalk.” Hat tip: John from teething-teeth.com (#2 on Google for teething solutions).
Dr. Andy, of ez-search-engine-optimization fame, has a great newsletter on SEO and related topics. If you’re not already on his list, you should try it.
Unlike some of us, he puts out his newsletter every week. You can check it out on his blog too.
In his last newsletter, he wrote a review of Stomping the Search Engines. You can read the review here.
Chris “Lockergnome” Pirillo says AdSense changed his life in this interesting review of the [Google] ‘Plex by the moderator of the AdSense forum on WebMasterWorld.
Has it changed yours yet? For many site owners, AdSense is a quick way to add easy money. Hint: Use white background, borderless ads, and blend them into the content.
Also, Chris will be on SEO Radio soon, so stay tuned. (Join the email list at www.seoradio.com to get the show reminders.
You heard it here first: attention.xml.
1. All blogs (and RSS feeds) are not created equal.
2. The MSN (Main Stream Media) is merging with the “blogosphere.”
3. Technology will allow “real” media people (MSM “journalists”) to know what’s up (the importance) of a blog or post at a glance.
If you’re interested in this topic, read about it on Steve Rubel’s blog.
Check out Chris Pirillo’s blog/podcast/show if you haven’t seen it already. For example, this interview with the “Oilman” is pretty interesting.
One point is that the most successful spammers eventually go white hat — short term, less money, long term they get to stay around. Did you know that many of the current internet marketing gurus started out as rank email spammers? True story.
Fortunately, no Stompers are stalkers. But geez, Yahoo People Search is so 2004.
Have you seen ZABASearch yet?
Pretty soon, you’ll just enter your national ID# on Google, and it will show where you are. (Of couse, like civilian GPS, it will only be accurate to three feet.)
