Are you smoking the podcasting dope?
Darren Barefoot isn’t. Shel Holtz, perhaps, is.
My take? Listening to content (versus reading) is good if you want specific content, e.g., a certain lecture or seminar. Especially if you have a commute.
In other words, it’s good for people who listen to seminars on tape in their (or possible talk radio). Not those who listen to their own CD music collection.

Funny you should bring this up. This was brought up at church that we are going to start pod casting. I guess that this is cool and for speakers its a good idea. But I am just really tired of the whole apple branding thing.

Will the next phase of podcasting be illegal downloads at major universities? Instead of Blink82, it will the economics professor’s class on currency trends in Europe!
As a former college radio show host, I can say that producing a quality show with good content, on even a weekly basis, is time consuming and requires dedication. It certainly takes more time than typing a blog does.
That said, I had a classmate who commuted two hours a day to school. He would record lectures and listen to them on the way home. So for people in places like LA who are stuck in traffic each day, it might be useful. There would have to be good content on a regular basis though.
