As a former college radio show host, I can say that producing a quality show with good content, on even a weekly basis, is time consuming and requires dedication. It certainly takes more time than typing a blog does.

That said, I had a classmate who commuted two hours a day to school. He would record lectures and listen to them on the way home. So for people in places like LA who are stuck in traffic each day, it might be useful. There would have to be good content on a regular basis though.

Will the next phase of podcasting be illegal downloads at major universities? Instead of Blink82, it will the economics professor’s class on currency trends in Europe!

I sure don't plan to do the podcasting thing. I'm just not that friggin enamoured with my own voice.

And I'll resist listening to other's podcasts too. I've found listening to motivational tapes and seminar recordings that too many really good writers/mentors have horrible sounding voices. And for me that's a huge distraction and turn off.

Although I am new to this e-commerce thing I am looking at all avenues to help with promote and develop my web site. If I can tell people why to by from me would be a good thing.

This is very useful. I already like the fact that the audio can be added relatively easily. Podcasting is taking this idea up a notch.

I don't see how podcasting can become popular unless the people produce some dang good content. Of course we all know that opinions are like....
nevermind.

Funny you should bring this up. This was brought up at church that we are going to start pod casting. I guess that this is cool and for speakers its a good idea. But I am just really tired of the whole apple branding thing.
