Is it any wonder that perhaps hundreds of millions of Netizens switch on their respective computers in the middle of the night on the way to the toilet to check email or touch bases with some forum?

Whereas information used to be in the sole possession of the aristocracy and landed class, it is now available to a gazillion people who haven't the foggiest idea how to utilize this data.

In the future, some people will make a living teaching people how to trash the 99 percent of trash in their lives.

Decidophobia and information overload have gone mainstream. The result may be nations of slaves who are unable to manipulate the exponentially increasing info-babble in their favor.

Very good post,

Visited China myself last year and it was amazing how much they are like us in the United States. The older generation was still using the old methhods but the younger people were full out living a good life just as the those in the states. Hope prudent decisions from them as they are now and will be even more of a world force.

I dont think that we need to worry about the economy of China becoming large. What we need to worry about is how that extra pollution and waste from the economy is going to affect the fragile nature of the planet.

This may be a good time to pick up another major language...especially when major search engines are trying to break into the foreign internet market.

People have commented on the fact that in years to come the Chinese economy could be larger than our own. Probably, it will be... but, is that such a bad thing? I think that in the future ... great economies will keep us all safe. Interdependence will keep us from fighting wars with one another. And, in the new world economy will one nation prevail as a power house?... or will each player have such a niche that there is no true "winner"? But, rather, we will all be so dependent on each other. These are interesting questions.

I am reminded of the first time I saw the night sky in Wyoming. Having only seen the sky from the vantage of the NY metropolitan area (albeit from the relatively dark 1960s) the infinite and the infinitesimal self the stars revealed gave me a sense of belonging to something greater than myself. If it had been accompanied with that haunting incessantly repeating music it would have scared the crap out of me.
