Are You Dangerous or Are You Desperate?
Henry David Thoreau said it. And you’ve heard the quote dozens of times, no doubt. But I believe firmly that even if there is some truth to the thought that most people “live lives of quiet desperation,” many more are searching for adventure and knowledge.
People want knowledge. They want challenges. They want to grow. They want to learn. And they want to do all this in a way that’s invigorating and energizing.
That’s why “The Dangerous Book for Boys” is a publishing phenomenon. The best-seller contains all the essentials that British brothers Conn and Hal Iggulden think a boy should know.
This thoroughly entertaining book includes “how to” directions that would make an overprotective mom blanch and a grade school administrator keel over. Instructions are included on how to make a bow and arrow, construct a battery, hunt and cook a rabbit, tan a hide, create a water bomb, and make a tripwire.
While the lessons on potentially treacherous activity are clearly the hook here, there is plenty of less threatening information in the book, such as how to tie naval knots, historical information on famous battles, poems every boy should know, and a list of important Latin phrases.
One thing the book doesn’t have is instructions on eating fire, which you can find on Free IQ. But truthfully, that’s a little bit of an anomaly on our site. So, if your idea of making yourself dangerous is learning a skill, strategy, or technique that can improve your ability to do your job, grow your business, or pursue a favorite hobby, that’s likely waiting for you on Free IQ.
At Free IQ, we’re making sure that our users are steering well clear of a life of quiet desperation. Why don’t you come learn what you want to learn or teach what you have to share? Come make yourself dangerous with another visit to Free IQ today.

Hey Brad,
I’ve seen you mention FreeIQ many times and I had no clue what it was and stupidly thinking it was some sort of Soduko thing for bored SEOs, never checked it out, till just now.
WOW! What a great idea and what a terrific resource!
Still not sure about the name
but I’ve joined and hope to be an active and useful member.
Thanks again Brad!
Peter.
PS. So where is the Soduko page then? LOL.
(PPS I bought you coffee. Not thirsty yet?)
The FreeIQ name is neat and will some day be a household name I am sure. I can see people saying ‘why dont you freeiq it?’ when they are asked a question. No doubt it will help me out when friends are asking me for computer help over the phone. In many cases i can send them a link to a freeiq video that will show them what they need to know.
I think FreeIQ is on the tip of the newest iceburg. Bit by bit this sort of site will become mainstream, it will likely take at least a couple years. FreeIQ seems to be in the right position at the right time.
I agree. Everyone I know now knows of FreeIq.

Hi Brad,
Nice segue from the book to Free IQ. Now that’s some good writing
Free IQ is looking great. Now that I’ve got my ecommerce store up and running, I need to really think about how I make the connection between the two. I definitely appreciate the free resource (and opportunity) you’ve provided.

I’ve just visited Free IQ for the first time. It seems to be a much more mature version of YouTube and you can make money with it also! Now if I could just find the right video screen capture software I’ll be on my way.
It’s been a while since I checked Free IQ out. I remember the launch and also remember scratching my head thinking how can I really use this. I’m going now to see whats going on.

I didn’t know what it was going to be exactly, but the mere mention of it took me back to my own childhood.
I remember rifling through my older brothers chest of drawers in pursuit of their comprehensive, dog-earred, book on Scouting. I loved all the techniques and survival skills it detailed.
Being a “girl child” I couldn’t join the Scouts (and no, I wasn’t interested in bake sales with the Girl Scout Troop) so I lived vicariously through this book … building rafts, ditching my tent, calculating the temperature from the cricket chirps, etc.
I still haven’t seen this book, but I look forward to it. I hope it will be as much loved and remembered by others as my brothers Survival Guide has been to me. (…and my infant grandson will probably have a copy of it waiting for him when he’s ready for it).

Baby Care Tips
I have read some snippets of this book and it was like a boy-scouts dream come true. In a world where men are feminized and woman are now taking over many of the traditional male rolls I am all for a little male bonding and crazy wild west, down and dirty, let boys be boys kind of book. With dust and grass stains on my jeans and any fun memories of causing trouble with fire, broken glass, and a stolen beer from the fridge I say every boy should have this book.
