Buy moving people from PC’s and Laptops to Hand held devices the energy savings for this alone are commendable. I applaud Google and the “Don’t be evil” motto that they follow. I say lets all get on board and follow there example.

They also need to research power generation for their offshort data centers (http://www.datacenterknowledge.com/archives/2008/09/06/google-planning-offshore-data-barges). Currently, they want to use Pelamis Wave Energy Converter units, which use the waves in the ocean to generate electricity.

Very commendable. Will certainly help them in the PR battle against becoming ‘big, bad google’
